Famous route for locals
This trail is pretty flat and guides you through swamp to Glenbourne. Many locals use this path to calm down or as a beautiful walk to school or to work. This trail is perfect for an easy strole with the whole family.
Through the park at the pond
Start your tour at the park's entrance by the little pond called Belcher and follow the so-called „Little Belchers Pond Trail“. First you will be walking through the smaller part of the park, keep following the trail and eventually you will cross Parkland Drive.
From there the trail turns into Belcher's Marsh Trail. Walk through the hamlet while you are still in the park, which at this point is only 20m wide. Now cross Farnham Gate Road and get to the bigger part of the park. At this stage you can choose if you either want to visit the observation point or walk around the swamp first. To get to the observation point follow the path a little longer otherwise turn left on the trail into the park.
Short detour onto the city's streets
Keep following the trail while you continue hiking between people's gardens and swamp. Stay within the housing area until you hit Parkland Drive. From there stay on the street for a little while until you will get back to the park's entrance.
Way back through the park
Walk back into the park and keep following the trail until you hit your starting point in the park. From there start hiking back through the small part of the park to your car or the bus station.

On the trail itself you won't find anything but within the hamlet you will have enough places to choose from.
Interesting facts
- You're traveling a distance of 2 km on this easy trail. The hike is therefore not too long. The average length of all hikes in Nova Scotia is 19 km.
- The hike is one of the family friendly trails in the region. What’s even better: You can also bring the family’s best friend on this dog friendly hike.
- You shouldn’t forget to bring your hiking boots. There are some sections on the trail where sturdy footwear is required.

Getting here
By car
The park's entrance is located at Parkland Drive in Glenbourne. The road runs alongside highway 102 and is also accessible via that highway. Parking is available close to the little pond on the left side of the street.
By public transportation
You can easily get there by public transportation. To do so take one of the bus lines 16, 34 and 89, get out at Parkland Drive opposite Carlina Ct and you will be right at the entrance of the trail.
