Route description

From Frantschach to St. Gertraud
From Frantschach to St. Gertraud

Starting at the Kirchenwirt, you'll be first passing the Pfarrkirche (church) and then turn right after appr. 300 m (328 yards) into the hiking path no. 551a/8. From here you'll follow the ascending path for appr. 1.2 km (0.75 miles) until you reach the farm Jakl. You'll continue on a so-called Hohlweg (hiking path) and follow the way through the mixed forest ahead of you until you get to the farm Raffling. Then follow the street leading further downhill to the fork in the road. Here you'll turn right and carry on following the signs depicting Theißenegg/ Stoffhütte/ Hebalm. After 400 m (437 yards) turn left into the direction of the farm Konrad and follow then the signage leading towards Theißenegg/ Lavanttaler Höhenweg. Next, you'll be hiking on a gravel road for about 1.2 km (0.75 yards) until you reach the sign Lavanttaler Höhenweg/ 551/ Theißenegg/ Wanderung/ 1/5/1a, where you'll turn left. After 20 minutes of further hiking you'll reach Theißenegg, the final destination of the tour.

Getting here

By car: 

Take the A2 Südautobahn (motorway), exit at Wolfsberg Nord. Turn left after 2 km (1.2 miles) into the direction of Frantschach-St.Gertraud.

Alternatively, take the route via Obdach using the B78 and B70.
