Fimmvörðuháls Trail connects Skógar and Þórsmörk, and leads hikers along the beautiful south coast of Iceland, and past Þórsmörk Nature Reserve. As the trail passes between two glaciers, sudden changes in weather can happen at any time, with rain, snow, and heavy winds. The path is usually passable from mid-June to September; hiking the Fimmvörðuháls is not recommended unless you have the necessary equipment and are accompanied by a guide.
