Description
The museum, with an area of about 2000m², is located in the so-called Maison des Avocats, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, in the heart of old Lyon. It contains two large areas: the miniature worlds and the film props.
The miniature worlds were mainly created by the artist Dan Ohlmann. The more than 100 miniature scenes in the museum depict highly exaggerated moments from everyday life, which can be viewed very closely through the magnifying glasses on display. Among other things, the restaurant Maxim's de Paris is on display, but also backyards or dilapidated rooms with peeling wallpaper. Also on display are miniature origami animals or sculptures made of matches
The other part of the exhibition deals with over 300 original film props and special effects techniques. Among other things, costumes from films such as V for Vendetta or Batman Begins are exhibited here. There are also models on display explaining effects such as explosions or plane crashes. In between there are also temporary exhibitions which are set up in collaboration with many special effects artists and film museum curators

The Musée Miniature et Cinéma in Lyon is very easy to reach by public transport. For example, you can take the metro line D to the Vieux Lyon stop. Or you can take your car and leave it in the Saint Jean or Saint Georges car parks
