Description
Thierbach is the smallest and probably the most romantic of the four Wildschönau church villages. 1,150 metres above sea level, the village consists only of the parish church, the primary school, a few residential and farmhouses and two inns.
Refreshment
A hike around the Thierbacher Kogel includes a stop at the "Sollererwirt" - the so-called "Speckbacherstube" is still original from the time of the Tyrolean freedom fights around 1809. You can also stop for a snack at the Jausenstation Klinglerhof, the Hörbighof, the parent house of the famous Hörbiger family around Christiane and Attila Hörbiger, the Almhof or the Gasthof Gratlspitz.
The Gratlspitz
The "Gratlspitz" is the local mountain of the Thierbach people, and not only because of its jagged shape an impressive mountain. The hike leads via the Holzalm farms or via the Klinglerhof to the Brixental Holzalpe and from there further towards the summit. Via the Gratlspitz or the Hösljoch one reaches the neighbouring Alpbachtal. In summer you can visit the silver show mine Lehenlahn. The slow train runs to the village regularly.
Historical Information
The so-called "Speckbacherstube" in the Sollererwirt is still originally from the times of the Tyrolean freedom fights around 1809. Josef Speckbacher, a follower of Andreas Hofer, has called for a fight here. The "Sturmlöda" still bears witness to these times.

Wildschönau, in the district of Mühltal turn right after the bridge, drive 5 km up to Thierbach.
